Book Fair

Fostering a Love of Reading!

Book fair is currently scheduled for March 14-18 in hopes that we will be able to hold it in-person later in the year.

Each year the PTA hosts a Book Fair in the our school library. This week-long event provides books to our classrooms, students, and the library’s collection. The week ends with the crowd-favorite Donut Day for Dad, Mom, Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt or Friend!

NEW! Contactless Book Fair Bus - Books Delivered Directly to You!

R.E.A.D is thrilled to be hosting an online book fair for McKinley, June 1-12. R.E.A.D is a local nonprofit whose mission is to ensure babies and young children have new, quality, culturally relevant books of their own that are mirrors and windows into their everyday lives and communities.

When you buy a book, 20% of the sales will return to McKinley’s PTA, and the remaining revenue goes directly back into R.E.A.D’s programming to get new, FREE books into the hands of the vulnerable young children we serve here in Arlington.

Watch grade-level book talk videos to highlight the books we will be offering. Deliveries will begin the week of June 8th. Shipping will also be available.

We will also have a gift card option for teachers – a great way to recognize them as this most unusual school year comes to a close.

SHOP ONLINE JUNE 1-12 at this link.

At checkout, add a note that you are a McKinley family. You will find “Note to Seller” at the last step of the check-out when reviewing your order.

How You Can Help

Help decorate the Library, unpack books, set-up, assist the students with shopping, work as cashier or re-stock the books during this week-long event. Assistance with Family Night and Donut Day is needed as well.

2019 Wrap-Up

A Ginormous Thank You to the amazing team of volunteers who put together the 2019 Book Fair. In particular, we thank Jen Judah and Ashley McQueen, event co-chairs; their superstar helpers Leah Stults, Karly Miller, Laura Allen, and Nikki Baltatzis; and all others who donated time and/or talents to make the Book Fair a success. (I mean seriously—did you see that tree in the middle of the library??!?)

More than 3,000 books were sold; the PTA keeps 25% of the proceeds and our school library received 77 new books as another one of the benefits of hosting the event. Yahoo!
